I am passionate about all 3-D design and, after studying at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design, I moved to Central England to specialise in Furniture Design, receiving a BA(Hons) in 1996. Afterwards, I spent many years self-employed as a contemporary bespoke furniture designer/ maker within the Purbecks..
I continue to design and make, focusing on locally-sourced wood. My designs aim to showcase the woodgrain, & the beauty of the natural imperfections within it, while emphasising it's very tactile qualities.
In 2017 I returned to my love of ceramics, with a range of characterised pet sculptures "Pawtraits In Clay", also providing the opportunity for clients to commission a unique sculpture of their very own pet.
Drawing inspiration from the local coastine and its palette of amazing colours, I also enjoy creating contemporary ceramic homeware & jewellery- quirky hanging pots, vases, dishes, pendants, and more.
My studio is idyllically situated in a 19th century barn, set against an inspirational backdrop of the Purbeck Hills and World heritage coastline, and is also home to my partnership business, "Shop Dorset Makers", promoting and selling work from the county's finest artists & makers.
I welcome any enquiries, and look forward to hearing from you.
